Mini Drugstore Haul!

Hello beauties! I don't think I've ever written a haul post before, but I went to the drugstore a couple days ago and decided I might as well post about it:) So, as you can see, I've purchased: Great Lash lots of Lashes Macara in Very Black, Revlon ColorStay Lip Liner in Blush, Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer in Fair to Light, and Clean and Clear Body Wash in BOOST.

Lots of Lashes Mascara- I am in love with mascara. I always need at least 2 or 3 different kinds at once. I had my Maybelline Clear Mascara and One by One, but I had my eye on the new Lots of Lashes mascara. I was never a fan of the original Great Lash, but I still wanted to try it out. I mean, come on, the brush is tiny and shaped like a heart!! So, I decided to get it. And BOY do I love this mascara!! The tiny brush makes it easy to get certain lashes without making a huge mess. And the formulation? Awesome! My lashes look to long and full! My favorite mascara!

Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner- I'd never tried a lip liner before to be honest with you, but I really wanted to. I picked out this color because it's a nude pink, which could go with so many of my lipsticks. It's pretty good. I'm not in love with it, but I've still been using it. It does the job!

Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer- I reaaaally needed a tinted moisturizer. I had some discoloration on my face, but it wasn't bad enough for a foundation. Plus, I wanted to give my skin a break. So, I bought this! It'd kind of really amazing. My skin looks so bright and pretty when I have this on!:)

Clean and Clear BOOST- I've been wanting this for at least 2 months. And finally, I found it!! It's just a lightly exfoliating body wash that's supposed to "wake you up" in the morning as you shower. And boy, does it work!! It smells soooo amazing, and it defiantly wakes me up. I love it!!

Cheap, Last Minute Halloween Look- Barbie!

Yes, I know, I haven't been posting any Halloween tutorials. But, I decided I'd try to put a couple up incase some of you still don't know what to be! They're really easy, and great for putting together a last minute costume for a party or something:)
So, Let's get started with our basic Barbie look!:)

Face:
-L'oreal Paris Studio Secrets Magic perfecting Base
-Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector
-Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation
-Covergirl Loose Powder
-Posie Tint Cheek Stain

Eyes:
-Urban Decay's Primer Potion
-Almay Eyeshadow Treo in 003 for Hazel Eyes
-L'oreal Paris HIP Bright Eyeshadow Duo in Brazen
-Maybelline New York Great Lash Lots of Lashes Macara in Very Black
-Optional: False Eyelashes
-Optional: Eye liner
-Optional: Brow Powder or Pencil

Lips:
-Revlon ColorStay Lipliner in Blush
-Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Candy Pink
-Revlon Lusterous Lipstick in Pearl
-Victoria Secret Pink Lipgloss in Candy Baby

FACE-
So, first off start with a primer. All I have now is the L'oreal primer, so I just used that. Then, apply your concealer. all i used was my neutrogena one for under my eyes. After, using a stippling brush,(You can use whatever you want, but stippling brushes seem to make a more flawless look, like a plastic doll!) apply your foundation. Feel free to use a very full coverage foundation, because Barbie's skin is always perfect! All I had was my Natureluxe though, which is light to medium coverage, so I used that. To set it all, I took a NYX powder puff and dabbed powder on my T-zone. Usually I would use a brush, but brushes can sometimes ruin the smooth surface we just made with our foundation. So, I used a puff. Afterwards, apply any pink blush you have. I just used Posie Tint, which when piled on, can be VERY pink.

EYES-
After applying your eye primer, take a very light, shimmery pink color and put it on the inner third of you eye, and around your inner corners for your highlight. Then, take a very hot pink eye shadow color and cover the other two thirds of your eyelids. Don't be afraid to go  way above your crease- it's Halloween makeup!! Break a couple rules! Then, use any white-champagne eye shadow to use as your brow highlight. Curl your lashes and apply at least 2 coats of any black mascara on both top and bottom lashes. (I usually don't put  a lot- if any- mascara on my lower lashes, so I decided to put on a lot for Halloween).
I decided not to, but if you want, you can apply an eyeliner. I would choose a black liquid liner and use it on the upper lash line to wing it out. Very cute. You could also apply false eyelashes to make it more dramatic. And if you want, groom your brows!! I would have... But i was lazy <3

LIPS-
I took a pink lip liner pencil and followed the natural line of my lips, then colored all the way in. Then, I took my super hot pink lipstick and applied it. To make it even more dramatic, I took another pinky-red color and layered it on top of my other lipstick. Then I just used a little gloss on the center of my lips to finish it off.

So there you go! Sorry, my lighting was really bad today, but I still decided to post the pictures. But this is just a very easy makeup look using almost all Drugstore products. :) I hope you enjoyed! I'm being this for Halloween, and I'm going to a party tomorrow night, so I'll post pics!:)

Neosporin- Acne's Worst Nightmare

As you may have seen on my last "Clearing Things Up" post, I decided to try using neosporin as an acne treatment. Crazy? Yes. Does it work? Absolutely!!
My friend told me this trick a few days ago, and I decided to first try it as a spot treatment. I was excited. I knew either way, even if it didn't work, it wouldn't burn or harm my skin. I mean, it's neosporin. I've been using it since the 90's!
Basically why it works is it because it cleans out all the bacteria in the zit- just like on a cut. So, the skin can repair itself a lot faster. Pretty easy to understand. Plus, no weird chemicals all over your face!
I tried it as a spot treatment when I went to bed one night, and when I woke up, a couple of problem pimples had completely gone away. I was so happy! So, to continue the treatment, i mixed it in with my morning moisturizer. I've been doing this for a few days now, and my skin has improved GREATLY. My face isn't as red, many of my zits have gone away, and  it doesn't make my skin overly dry or overly oily! And my very favorite part of this is that it doesn't leave you with acne marks.
Honestly, that's my main problem with acne. Most of the time I'll have none, but it looks like I do because of all my marks. This stuff doesn't cause marks at all! Amazing. I realllllly recommend you guys try this! Thanks for reading:)

Clearing Things Up- Part 4

Hello everybody! So, yeah, after my last post my skin starting to break out again. Now I have it almost back under control. :P Before I kind of just made sure I cleanser very well and exfoliated, but now I've been using more spot treatments and such. They really work! I use different kinds depending on what I think will work best for my situation. I have a clearasil night time salicylic acid spot treatment and some benzoyle peroxide spot treatment I got from my hair dresser. I also have this Neutrogena spot pen with salicylic acid that I keep in my bad go reapply during the day when I'm at school or with friends. So really, I kinda hop around from spot treatment to spot treatment every day. They seem to be working. Which of the 3 are helping? No idea hahaha.
But, my friend told me the other day that Neosporin is supposed to be great for acne. So, last night I put it on as a spot treatment, and this morning I mixed it with my moisturizer. It actually seems to be clearing it up really good!! I'll tell you if it works!
Well, that's pretty much it!! Bye everyone:) xoxoxo

My Obsession with L'oreal Lipsticks

I've always had issues with finding a good drugstore lipstick that's color stayed on for a while. They would look good at first, then disappear an hour later. Either that, or they just didn't look good. This always disappointed me! All I wanted was a good lipstick that didn't cost that much. Thankfully, I've found my match.
L'oreal's Colour Riche Lipstick. This stuff is amazing! Honestly, I've had two of these lipsticks for a while, but I never really payed attention to them. They just sat way, way, way back in my makeup collection. But a week or two ago they resurfaced, and I decided to give them another try. They. Are. Amazing! It is soooo long lasting. I swear, I put it on 7 hours ago and it's still as bright as when I put it on. I've even eaten in between! It's SUPER amazing. And the product itself is VERY moisturizing. I don't even need to apply a lip balm on before hand. And (my favorite part) it's very true to color. I have a brown-nude shade and a shimmery pink shade, and the color of the lipstick is the exact color you get on your lips. I love it!!:) Oh, and it doesn't settle in your lip's cracks. Just an overall amazing lipstick. So, let's go over everything, shall we?
-Stays on all day
-Moisturizing
-True to color
-Doesn't settle in lines

So, yeah! I hope you enjoyed my little review:) Bye, beauties!

September Favorites!

It's that time of the month again- Favorites! I'm a little late (sorry!) but I still wanted to make a post. So let's just jump right into it, shall we?

Benefit's High Beam- So i only have the sample size, but this highlighter is amazing! I got it in July but I didn't really start using it until September, and it's amazing! A couple dabs of this and my complexion looks so much better. Even over the past two weeks when i was barely wearing any makeup, I would swipe some on and I would look instantly better. I apply it on my cheek bone, down the bridge of my nose, and on my cupids bow. It only takes a minute to look like you spent an hour on your face!

OPI's French Quarter For your Thoughts- So I had been wanting a matte gray nailpolish, and this was perfect! It's very fall like, and it stays on forever! This was my first OPI polish, and I was very happy with the results. It stayed on for over a week without even chipping! Plus, the color was wonderful. Plain and simple. Beautiful.

Neutrogena Brightening Eye Perfector- I just needed a good, cheap under eye concealer. Welp, I got it! It really brightens my eyes and keeps the focus away from my circles, while concealing them.

Garnier Skin Renew Moisturizer- This was the moisturizer I was talking about in my last post. It's so amazing! I think I'm going to do a review on it soon, so I'm not going to say a lot about it right now. But I couldn't live without it!

Urban Decay Naked Palette- You guys know I love this. Amazing pigmentation and a beautiful supply of colors.

Remmington 1/2" to 1" Curling Wand- I had heard sooooo much about this, and I wanted to purchase it. It's so amazing! I really hate curling irons. The clamps are so stupid. Before i got this, I would literally wrap my hair around the clamp, pretending it was a wand. It was sooo sad. So, I bought this, and my hair looked so good!! I think I'm going to do maybe like a video tutorial on how to use this. It's so amazing! You NEED to get it!

Aussie Heat Protecting Shine Spray- So i had never used a heat protectant before... I know!! Horrible!! But I never really cared. I thought "what are the chances it would work anyway? Either way, i don't care... it'll be fine." But when i bought my curling wand, i decided to get this. It works so well!! My hair looks so much healthier, plus the spray is supposed to make it shinier and it totally works! I love it!

Cover Girl Translucent Powder- I've been using this for months on end, and I've always loved it. But I had been using it to much that I forgot how much I loved it! So I wanted to include it in my favorites post. It really lasts all day, and it doesn't cake up! Super awesome and really cheap.

Real Techniques Stipple Brush- So there isn't that much to say about this because it's just a  brush, but it's amazing! It's only $10 and I like it better than a mac stippling brush, to be honest. After using this, my face looks so flawless! :)

So that's about it! Enjoy your month. xoxo!

Clearing Things Up- Part 3

Hi beauties! So... my skin is better!!:D It's so awesome! I am so proud of myself. Over the past couple weeks I haven't worn face makeup, I've kept my bangs out of my face, I've been exfoliating more, and I've been putting on moisturizer! All of these things really helped! Let me break it down.
For info. on my not wearing makeup, click here.:)
Keeping my bangs out of my face has helped a bunch, too! I'd just clip them away, braid them back, or straighten and spray them so they stay out of my face. That really helped my forehead acne go away. Just all the oils from my hair kept dripping on my face I guess (ew! dripping! It wasn't actually... Oh, you know what I mean) so it caused my forehead to breakout. But not anymore! :D
And we all know we're supposed to exfoliate once to three times a week, but I never really did. If I saw something online about exfoliating, I'd remember and go exfoliate my face. But that only happened like once a month. But I've been exfoliating twice a week and it helps soooo much!! I use the Neutrogena Naturals Face Scrub, and it makes my skin super smooth. I never really liked scrubs because they irritated my skin, but this one doesn't! The little exfoliated beads are so tiny that you can't even feel them scratch all the dead skin off. It's amazing. So i would just exfoliate in the morning some days and it would make my skin look so glowy and refreshed.
As for moisturizer, I finally got some! I got this great kind (which I will mention in my September Favorites Post) but i ran out and couldn't find it anywhere. So, I tried a couple other kinds but all they did was make my skin oily. It was horrible! Then, one day last week, I found my moisturizer at Safeway!! I got so excited. So I bought it right away and every time I put it on my skin looks so much brighter and healthier. Never skip out on moisturizer!!!
So that's about it! I'm still going to make a couple more clearing things up posts, but I think my skin is mostly better. Wooo!!:D Love you guys! xoxo

Clearing Things Up- Part 2

Hi beauties! I just wanted to do a quick update on how my skin has been! So, I still haven't found a new skin care system i want to invest in yet, but I have worn less makeup!
Yes, it was hard. I LOVE makeup. To death. If I didn't, I wouldn't have this blog now would I? So going with very little makeup the past couple days was hard. All i wore was concealer for my UNDER EYE CIRCLES, powder, clear mascara, and some kind of lip product. (Powder to keep my face matte, concealer so I don't look tired, and mascara and lips so i look a little more put together.) Ever since, my skin has looked so much better! Without foundation and concealer, my face has very much improved. I'm not sure if it's because it's makeup, and makeup clogs pores, or if it's I'm allergic to the products I've recently bought. Maybe both? But oh well, I'll find out in a couple weeks when I slowly start wearing more makeup.
So, that's pretty much it! Just wanted to update you all on how my skin is going. I still need to keep my bangs out of my face and eat better, but I haven't really gotten around to that. I know, I'm horrible! But I'll start tomorrow morning! Love you all so much! xoxo

Clearing Things Up - Part 1

Hi beauties!! How are you today? Sorry I've been kind of MIA recently. I've been having a lot of issues with my skin lately, and I've just been really focused on trying to fix it.
My skin always gets little breakouts here and there, but usually it's all over fine. The past month, though, my breakouts haven't been going away! I've been strict with cleansing my skin, I've tried a couple different face washes and scrubs; nothing is working. The Neutrogena Naturals line is really good, but only for keeping your skin clean. It prevents breakouts, but doesn't help if you already have one. Clearasil is another favorite line of mine, but it hasn't been working for me! Usually it would always work.. I don't know what's different. I think it's just I've used in so much in the past years on and off that my skin is immune to it.
So, I'm starting to kick in high gear. I really need to change what I'm doing to get my skin better.
1- Change My Diet- I'm going to start eating healthier! And I'm going to start drinking more water. I should be having 8 a day, when all I have is like one or two. Really bad, I know.

2- Find a Better Skin Care Regimen- I need to find another line!! Do you guys have any ideas? I was thinking of trying the Clean Start line. I hear it's GREAT. What works for you, though?

3- Stop Touching My Face- I know you're not supposed to, but I can't help it! I never touch my face when it's clear, but when I break out, I can't stop touching it. So far, I haven't touched it all day<3

4- Stop wearing so much makeup- Over the past couple months I've bought new foundation and primer and blush... Ever since then, my face has been breaking out. I'm not sure if it's an ingredient in one of the products, or I'm wearing foundation more (which i usually don't), so it's clogging my pores, or it has nothing to do with my makeup. Either way, I'm going to wear a lot less makeup. I just need to give my skin a break while it heals itself. Then, I'll slowly start adding the makeup back in my routine to see which one MIGHT be causing my skin to look so bad.

5- Get my hair out of my face- I have side bangs, and right under them my skin tends to breakout sometimes. While my skin is getting better, I'm going to start putting my bangs up more. I'll hate doing this, because at least the bangs hide my breakouts, but it will be a lot better for my skin in the long run.

So that's pretty much what I'm going to be doing for a while. I'm defiantly going to keep you guys updated on what's happening, though. So, join me on this journey to clear skin! Love you all!!

     xoxo, Kelly
